Sorelle Ineza and Jacco Firtz, active players on Hofstra’s women’s and men’s basketball teams, ditched the laces and picked up a headset for a night.
The Hofstra University women’s basketball team dropped their fifth straight game on Friday, Jan. 26, as they fell to the College of William & Mary Tribe, 61-50.
After suffering a fifth straight defeat, the Hofstra University women’s basketball team travels to Virginia to take on the Hampton University Pirates on Sunday, Jan. 28.
The fourth quarter was the only part of the game where Hofstra was able to put double digits on the scoreboard in one frame. It started with a Swint jumper followed by an Ineza 3-pointer. Two straight layups and another made shot made it a 54-36 game. Anya’s final basket ended up being the last scoring play in the game with 2:19 left to go.
The Pride opened conference play on Friday, Jan. 5, with an 82-54 dismantling of the UNC-Wilmington (UNCW) Seahawks.
The Hofstra University women’s basketball team dropped their last game of the year to the Manhattan College Jaspers, 53-45, on New Year’s Eve.
