Volleyball dominates at Dartmouth Invitational to capture title

The Hofstra volleyball team had a dominant weekend in Hanover, New Hampshire at the Dartmouth Invitational, which took place Sept. 13-14. The Pride dominated all three teams they faced, defeating Dartmouth College, Fordham University, and University of Hartford to take home the title. They now hold a 7-3 record and have extended their winning streak to five matches.

Women's soccer escapes with 2-1 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson

In an up-and-down performance, the Hofstra women’s soccer team defeated the Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) Knights by a score of 2-1 on Thursday, Sept. 12. The Pride controlled the game for most of the contest, dictating pace and keeping possession, largely on the Knights’ half of the field. Hofstra peppered FDU goalkeeper Amanda Fitzgerald with 23 shots, compared to just three for their opponents.

Men's soccer blanked by JMU in CAA title game rematch

The Hofstra Pride men’s soccer team dropped their first road game of the season against conference rival James Madison University (JMU) 2-0 on Friday, Sept. 6. This was not only the first conference game of the year for Hofstra, but also a rematch of last year’s Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) title game that saw the Pride fall to the Dukes after the match came down to a penalty shootout.

After a season which saw the team go 2-4 in Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play, miss the CAA playoffs by tiebreaker rules to Drexel University and get a new head coach in Courtney Veinotte after Kathy DeAngelis resigned with 20 seasons under her belt, the team has brand new identity and is ready for the upcoming season, according to coach.
