Last year, Balmain's Christophe Decarnin designed pricey jackets and costly jeans (think upwards to $12,000). This year, Decarnin, reproduced a collection with the same fundamentals: an edgy femme fatale empowered with sharp shoulder pads and heeled military boots.

If the last bakery you walked in to didn't make you feel like you were about to go into diabetic shock from all the sweetness, then you're going to the wrong bakeries.  When I go into a bakery, I expect to be overwhelmed by the amount of cakes, pastries, cookies and other sweet treats available to me, and Dortoni Bakery and Pastry Shoppe in Levittown was no exception.

Anyone who has seen me walking around campus has more than likely not noticed anything different about me. I appear to be a healthy, normal, and perhaps somewhat energetic girl. However, this could not be any further from the truth.

Instead of using a bare runway as he had in the past, Chanel's Karl Lagerfeld showcased his 2010 collection with a more pastoral theme: a barn. The rustic backdrop along with lamb-faced models in classic Chanel blazers connoted an air of simplicity and innocence, untouched by sordid city life.

That being said, Victor DelBene does his part to ensure that tomorrow's children are prepared to take on that challenge later in life. DelBene, a senior with a psychology major and a minor in philosophy, volunteers weekly at Stony Brook's Children's Psychiatry Hospital.

The exhibit, which was presented to the directors of the gallery by a University faculty member, is part of the post-pop era.  According to Karen Albert, the Assistant Director for Exhibitions and Collections, Morris's exhibit in the gallery has several inspirations for his work.

Most students hope to study abroad or travel while they are still in school, but to have both an internship and study overseas is a dream come true. This summer, Jill Reinholt, a junior management and marketing major, did both.

For his Spring/Summer collection, designer Raul Melgoza of Luca Luca, took a leap of faith (and fate) with his off –the-shoulder dresses, "watering hole" dampened curls and shimmied sequined tops for his seventies revival collection. In an attempt to recreate the savvy cleanliness of an emerging discotheque queen with simple, bright halter tops, empire waist skirts and capped sleeves, Melgoza's queen was instead scathed by the handlebar-stached bouncer at face control. Maybe I'm just a jackass but what does this mean exactly? Can it be put into simpler terms? His tepid and half-heartedly crafted high-collared dresses and Miami vice-esque print tops, countered the few decent pieces, such as the cleanly contoured pink and navy silk cocktail dresses.  Even though Melgoza's collection possessed a more than adequate bone structure to be suited by the citrine yet revered allure of the seventies, it was compromised by a gauche dénouement for being too clean, too pretty, too simple, and a poor allude to the seventies' flair.
