Rider comes back to stun field hockey in overtime

The Hofstra field hockey team’s final game before facing its first Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) rivals of the season ends in a 3-2 overtime loss against the Rider University Broncs. The Broncs entered the Hofstra field hockey stadium with a 5-2 record, earning them a first place spot in the Northeast Conference. However, the Pride also boasted a first-place seat in the CAA.

Field hockey makes it two in a row with win over Sacred Heart

Following a 3-1 victory over Long Island University (LIU) just two days prior, the Hofstra Pride field hockey team stayed hot and won its second consecutive game on Friday, Sept. 17, defeating Sacred Heart University on the road with a score of 2-0. With the win, Hofstra moved up to 4-4 in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) standings, while Sacred Heart dropped to 0-5 on the season.

Field hockey shut out by UMass Lowell on the road

The Hofstra Pride field hockey team dropped their second straight game and fourth of the season. Hofstra alternated wins in their first four games, three of which were in front of a home crowd at Hofstra Field Hockey Stadium. This was the Pride field hockey team's first road trip of the season to face the University of Massachusetts Lowell and it returns empty-handed.

Field hockey falls to Vermont in overtime

It took overtime to decide the game, but the Hofstra field hockey team fell on the road to the University of Vermont Catamounts, 2-1. Two different players scored for Vermont, and the Pride received their lone goal from Eline Oldeman. The loss drops the Pride to 2-3 on the season.
