Celebrities pledging for ‘ALL IN Challenge’

Food insecurity has reached new heights since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Coupled with the rising unemployment rate, the unpredictable shortage of food has left millions of Americans starving. Youth who rely on schools being open to receive meals are especially vulnerable to this food shortage, along with elderly people for whom it is difficult or dangerous to leave their homes.

A spectacular reunion from ‘Parks and Recreation’

Even though “Parks and Recreation” came to an end in 2015, the wonderful cast and crew behind the NBC sitcom reunited for a one-time special on Thursday, April 30. The episode was part of a collaboration with State Farm and Subaru in order to help raise funds for Feeding America, a non-profit organization that helps people through hunger crisis, especially those who have been affected by COVID-19.

The future of the entertainment industry after COVID-19

Movie theaters, Broadway theaters and concert venues all lie dormant as they wait for COVID-19 to end and for their patrons to return. Since entering this period of isolation more than a month ago, which most expect will last well into the summer, the entertainment industry has had to adapt from its traditional methods of engaging with its audience and pushing content into the digital world. But as entertainment faces this period of uncertainty, industry leaders are creating the blueprint for what can be our future well past COVID-19.

Broadway practices social distancing

On the evening of Thursday, March 12, all 31 current Broadway shows were canceled until further notice. This was a combined order from New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and Charlotte St. Martin, the president of the Broadway League. In the announcement, Gov. Cuomo said that “gatherings with 500 people or more will not be permitted in NY state.”
