New season calls for a new wardrobe

By Brianna CiniglioStaff Writer

The hot, humid summer weather is slowly beginning to come to an end, which means that it is finally time to start digging out your jeans and boots for the upcoming fall weather. With the temperature still in a confusing purgatory between hot and cold, it may not be just the right time yet to wear the full sweater, beanie and scarf ensemble. There are some outfit alternatives that will be perfect for this transition period.

Pairing fall and summer clothes is great for this time of year. Shorts, crop tops and summer dresses can be worn with sweaters, jeans and boots. A light sweater or loose cardigan will be perfect to wear when the weather hits the mid-60s at night, while the paired shorts will keep you cool during the day.

Tights are also the perfect go-to for this type of weather. They’re lighter than jeans, but will keep you warm during the cool fall nights. Tights can be worn with shorts, dresses and skirts and paired with black combat boots.

As you’re preparing for the changing season, it may also be time to shop around for a new pair of jeans. The varieties continue to expand each year. You can buy them stretchy or just basic denim material, you can buy a dark pair, like maroon or black, or a light color such as white and you may even want to try on a pair of flare jeans, which are showing up in stores everywhere once again. All jeans will of course still look great with your summer tops.

For the most basic transition outfit, you can always just buy a loose cardigan to wear over your favorite summer outfit. Kimono-style cardigans are trending and may give an outfit a festival feel when paired with shorts. Add a pair of combat boots to your outfit to complete the look.

Just as the leaves will begin to change, so may your outfits. Make the best out of this intermediate weather by wearing your favorite pieces from every season.
