The Hofstra wrestling team sent six competitors to St Louis this past weekend to compete in the NCAA Championship. They returned home with two All-Americans, adding prestige to the already illustrious Hofstra wrestling program.
"It was the only way it could have been, it was the only way it could have ended."
In his first year at the helm, Hofstra wrestling head coach Rob Anspach expected nothing less than a conference title. That is exactly what he got.
Despite controlling the match early, the Hofstra wrestling team could not sustain momentum, falling to Binghamton Sunday afternoon 24-12. The Pride was looking to recapture some steam after losing to third-ranked Cornell and ninth-ranked Pittsburgh last week, but could not capitalize on the strong start.
The no. 23 Hofstra wrestling's 10-0 start came to an end against no. 3 Cornell Saturday afternoon, 22-12, despite a pair of major upsets.
If this is the first time you're hearing about the Hofstra University wrestling team since December 8, you have missed quite a lot of action. The Pride went into winter break with a 2-0 record in dual meets and now stands at 10-0.
