The Hofstra women’s lacrosse team fell just short of a major upset over the defending national champions, James Madison University (JMU) on Saturday, April 14th at James M. Shuart Stadium. The Pride lost a very tightly contested double-overtime game by the score of 9-8 which saw JMU junior Maddie McDaniel score the gaming winning goal at the 3:05 mark in double overtime.
The resilience of the Hofstra softball team was on full display on Friday, April 12, when they came back to defeat the Drexel University Dragons on the road by a score of 9-8 in eight innings. The Pride scored the game’s final five runs, bringing in four of them to tie it up at eight in the seventh inning before adding a ninth and final run to secure their victory in the extra inning.
Delaware University goalie Ben DeLuca tied a career-high 18 saves in a 13-7 Blue Hens victory over Hofstra men’s lacrosse to stay undefeated in Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play on Saturday, April 13, at Delaware Stadium. The Blue Hens have now won four in a row and are 3-0 in the CAA (10-2 overall).

The 7-3 loss moves the Pride to 5-21 for the season and 1-5 in Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play. Northeastern climbs over the .500 mark to 16-15 overall (6-3 CAA).
On a crisp, sunny afternoon on Sunday, April 7, the Hofstra women’s lacrosse team defeated the Elon Phoenix 10-6 with a six-goal performance from Alyssa Parrella, who also broke the single season school record for most goals in a season with her 61st goal of the year.

Ryan Tierney and Dylan McIntosh did it again. After a thrilling 63 minutes of action, McIntosh scored the game-winning goal to complete a 10-9 upset over 17th-ranked University of Massachusetts (UMass) on Saturday, April 6, at James M. Shuart Stadium.
Hofstra baseball lost its matchup against Long Island University Brooklyn 10-1 on Wednesday, April 3, at home. The Pride fell to 4-19 on the season while the Blackbirds improved to 9-16.
The Hofstra softball team may not have struck first, but they bounced back from an early deficit to beat Stony Brook University 6-1. The win snaps a two-game losing streak and gives the Pride their 16th win of the season, one game above .500. Mackenzie Suto got the starting nod for the Pride, pitching a complete game and earning the win.
The Hofstra baseball team ended its seven-game losing streak, defeating Manhattan College 2-0 in the home opener Tuesday, April 2, at University Field. Steven Boscia pitched a gem for the Pride while Anthony D’Onofrio and Alex Sica drove in the only two runs. The win improved Hofstra to 4-18 on the season, while Manhattan fell to 8-19.
