After a win on the road against the U.S. Military Academy at West Point Black Knights, the Hofstra University women's basketball comes back home to await a three-game home series. The first is against the Lehigh University Mountain Hawks on Sunday, Dec. 3.

This will be the first time in 26 years since both teams have gone up against each other. Their last faceoff took place in 1997 with a 74-71 Hofstra win. The pair has only played each other 11 times in history.

The Mountain Hawks are coming to Hempstead with a 6-1 record, coming off a home win against the Drexel University Dragons, 58-57. Juniors Ella Stemmer and Colleen McQuillen propelled their team with 15 and 13 points, respectively, and junior Meghan O’Brien had eight rebounds off the glass, adding seven points from the field.

Stemmer leads Lehigh with 15.6 points per game this season while McQuillen and sophomore Lily Fandre trail behind with 10.6 and 10.3 points, respectively. The Hawks have scored an average of 74.4 points on offense, suffocating their opponent's defense. They continue to keep games close, giving up 64.3 points per game.

On the other side of the ball, the Pride keeps an even balance between points given, with 57.3, while scoring an average of 57 points a game.

In the Pride’s most recent showing, 3-point shooter Emma Von Essen led the team with 11 points while Sorelle Ineza and Zyheima Swint poured in eight points each.

Hofstra allows 16.8 turnovers per game while Lehigh allows 17.3 turnovers per game.

Lehigh enters the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex to try and spoil the Pride’s start to their three-home stint with tip-off set for Sunday, Dec. 3, at 2 p.m.
