Women's soccer hits four straight wins following CCSU shutout

By PJ Potter - STAFF WRITER The Pride handed Central Connecticut State’s first loss of the season on Sunday in a 4-0 barrage over the Blue Devils in the finale of the Yale Invitational.

Hofstra netted all four goals in the first half of the game, starting with Jill Mulholland’s score in the 7th minute to earn her first of the season. Mulholland notched her second career multi-goal game when she found the back of the net four minutes later to put the Pride up 2-0. Mulholland tallied five shots for the game.

Emily Agudelo and Noriana Radwan kept the offensive spark alive for Hofstra in the 38th and 45th minute to each record their first goals of the year. Agudelo launched her kick from 20 yards out while Radwan scored from 35 yards.

Emily Hulbert, Jeannine Molleda, and Mallory Ullrich all were credited with an assist in the match. Hofstra outshot CCSU 16-11 along with shots on goal 6-4. Friederike Mehring totaled four saves, her second shutout of the season.

The Pride looks to extend their winning streak to five against Stony Brook this Friday at 7PM in a battle between two Long Island rivals.
