Men's and women's tennis easily come away with wins vs. Lafayette

By Gio Annatelli - Staff Writer The Hofstra Pride Men’s tennis team was able to walk away with a 5-2 victory over Lafayette on Saturday. Hofstra is now 2-1 on the season while Lafayette falls to 1-4.

The Pride was able to win four straight singles matches as Ari Richman, Niko Vulinovich, and Ricky Hendler each posted straight set wins while Beau Wills rallied after losing the first set to get the only three-set victory of the day for the men.

Double pair Stuart MacLeod and Ricky Hendler and double pair Ari Richman and Leonardo Pires won back-to-back doubles matches as well.

The Hofstra Pride Women’s tennis team was also able to down Lafayette on Saturday, by a score of 6-1. The Pride remains undefeated so far, posting a 3-0 record while Lafayette is now 0-4.

Hofstra was almost able to perform a clean sweep of the singles matches, receiving wins from Sarah Bowen, Louise Lopez, Carmen Pestano, Giulia Leone, and Bianca Derrick. Leone and Derricks matches were the only singles to go to three-sets, as Leone rallied from down a set.

The Pride was able to sweep the doubles matches, with victories of 6-3, 6-1, and 6-3.

Pride Wrestling suffers third straight loss, falls to Drexel
