Public Safety Briefs

On Sept. 15, a University administrator was jogging near the dome parking lot when a male in a BMW approached her and asked to buy the socks she was wearing for $20. She kept running until she saw a PSO who assisted her and did a search of the campus, which proved negative.

A library staff member reported that there was a suspicious male walking around Axinn Library on Sept. 17 to Public Safety. Public Safety responded and questioned the male on what he was doing, when he could not provide a valid reason for being in the library, David Platt was taken to the HIC and banned.

Four off-campus students living on Kernochen Avenue reported to Public Safety that on Sept. 17, while watching television they heard a loud bang. One of the students got up to see what happened, and saw an unidentified male kicking open a door to the house. The unidentified male then fled the location, and the students observed four other males all leaving the location. The Hempstead Police Department was notified of the attempted burglary.

Students were observed drinking alcohol out of the trunk of a Nissan in the Netherlands Parking Lot South on Sept. 18 by an RA doing rounds. As the RA approached the vehicle, some of the students jumped over the fence, while the rest of them fled the scene in the vehicle.

Public Safety on Oak Street observed two males being harassed by two other males. A PSO confronted the males and one of them pushed the PSO and fled the scene. The officer called for assistance and two males were apprehended. William Tyson and Joseph Volpe were taken to the HIC and banned from campus. The NCPD was notified.

Public Safety observed two males carrying a case of beer in the Netherlands Residence Hall, on Sept. 18. The males, Joseph Sirio and Michael Toscano, were taken to the HIC and banned from campus.

A male running and screaming around parking field 7 was reported to Public Safety on Sept. 20. The male appeared to be drunk and was taken to the HIC and found to be a non-student. Dillon Kovar was banned from campus.

While inspecting the campus on Sept. 20, a PSO noticed the 75th Anniversary Banner was missing from the Gallon Wing. A search was conducted for the missing banner with no results.
