Freshmen step up in win against UNC-Wilmington

Thanks to significant help from its freshmen, the Hofstra baseball team defeated UNC-Wilmington 7-3 on Friday, April 19, at University Field to kick off their weekend series. With the win, the Pride moves to 9-24 overall and 3-7 in Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play. The Seahawks fall to 20-19 and 5-5 in the conference.

Northeastern bats overwhelm Pride in 7-3 loss

Despite a strong fourth inning with multiple runs for the Pride, the Hofstra baseball team fell to the Northeastern University Huskies in their series finale on Sunday, April 7, at Friedman Diamond. The 7-3 loss moves the Pride to 5-21 for the season and 1-5 in Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play. Northeastern climbs over the .500 mark to 16-15 overall (6-3 CAA). 

Steven Boscia fires a gem as Hofstra snaps losing streak

The Hofstra baseball team ended its seven-game losing streak, defeating Manhattan College 2-0 in the home opener Tuesday, April 2, at University Field. Steven Boscia pitched a gem for the Pride while Anthony D’Onofrio and Alex Sica drove in the only two runs. The win improved Hofstra to 4-18 on the season, while Manhattan fell to 8-19.

Baseball drops series opener to Charleston

Hofstra baseball lost the first of a three-game away series at the College of Charleston, 9-0, to open up Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play on Friday, March 29. Entering the conference schedule, the Pride looked to rebound from a four-game losing streak and their most recent 3-2 loss to Monmouth in extra innings.

Baseball falls to Monmouth in extra innings

The Hofstra Baseball team continued their struggles on Tuesday, March 25 as they dropped their fourth consecutive game – this one to Monmouth University by a score of 3-2. The game ended up going to extra innings knotted at two, where Clay Koniencki hit a walk off single in the bottom of the tenth inning to give the Hawks their eighth win of the season. With the loss, the Pride fell to 3-15 on the season.
