Hofstra men’s soccer fell 4-0 in their regular season finale to Columbia University on Tuesday, Oct. 30, to finish their regular season. The Pride’s focus now shifts to the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championship, where they enter the tournament as the No. 3 seed.
Hofstra men’s soccer is returning to the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Tournament for its seventh consecutive season after clinching the third seed in Saturday’s 2-0 win against the College of Charleston. They will face the sixth seed, which will be decided on Tuesday, Oct. 30, after Northeastern University faces No. 10 UNC-Wilmington.
It is officially the month of November, which means we are getting deeper into this crazy NFL season. Most teams have already played half of their regular season games, making the importance of every matchup ever more crucial week by week – starting with week nine.

Being a freshman is difficult. Now, picture all of that, along with juggling practice, travel and games for a Division I team. And you’re also from a foreign country, with English as your second language.
On Saturday, Oct. 20, the Hofstra men’s soccer team took a close victory on the road, defeating the Elon Phoenix by a score of 2-1. The win was their fourth in Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play, bringing their conference record to 4-2-1.
Coming into Hofstra’s game against James Madison, the Pride were in No. 5 and in need of a win in their final home game of the season to stay alive in the playoff race. Adding to the challenge in front of them was the fact that they had not defeated James Madison since 2011.
The Pride volleyball team were defeated by Towson University Friday night, dropping a two-set advantage to fall in the fifth set.
The Hofstra women’s volleyball team wrapped up their four-game road stretch with a straight set victory over Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) opponent Northeastern on Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 7 p.m. The win improves the Pride’s record to 16-6 (6-2 CAA) and drops the Huskies to 11-10 (4-4 CAA).
Despite being a late season non-conference tune-up game, the storylines were abundant in the Hofstra field hockey 7-1 victory over the Long Island University-Brooklyn Blackbirds on Sunday, Oct. 14.
