“I’m really passionate about mental health. If I could do anything, I would start with educating people on it and making them realize it’s not something we can ignore anymore. I think people need to be more aware. I also really like art. I’ve taken a few art classes, but not right now. I paint and draw. I’ve started a few things, but I haven’t had a chance to finish anything recently since I’m so busy with school and clubs. I don’t really know how to describe my style. I can show you some pictures. Art is more than just a hobby to me. It’s like a little vacation from what’s going on in my life – like schoolwork or things I need to get my mind off. I had a lot of issues with my anxiety in middle school so that’s why I started taking art classes. I feel refreshed after drawing or painting, and it’s honestly like I could almost start over in a way. It’s also a way for me to express what I’m feeling, because sometimes it’s hard for me to express myself vocally. It’s an outlet for my subconscious. I like that something I make could mean something to me but could be interpreted in a completely different way to someone else.
