Public Safety Briefs 10/28

On Oct. 21, at 12:35 p.m., Marijuana was found in a resident’s room during a health and safety inspection. The student was issued a referral to the Office of Community Standards. On Oct. 22, at 1:50 a.m., There was a report of an odor of marijuana coming from a resident’s room. The two students found inside the room were issued referrals to the Office of Community Standards.

On Oct. 22, at 3:00 p.m., It was discovered that someone defaced the door of a room in the Student Center during a vandalism incident.

On Oct. 23, at 1:40 a.m., PS responded to an incident of dating violence. The matter was referred to the Office of Community Standards.

On Oct. 23, at 3:04 a.m., A student stole and kept a Hofstra sign. PS responded on account of larceny theft.

On Oct. 23, at 7:56 p.m., A fire alarm was activated in a resident hall. Upon investigation, it was determined that the fire alarm was activated due to burned food from a microwave.

On Oct. 25, at 6:15 p.m., PS charged a student with disruptive conduct. They were issued a referral to the Office of Community Standards.

On Oct. 26, at 2:10 p.m., A student was charged with failure to comply for allowing another individual to use their ID card to enter a resident hall.

On Oct. 27, at 9:46 a.m., There was a report of larceny theft when a student took food from the dining area without paying for it.

On Oct. 27, at 9:33 p.m., Marijuana was used outside of a resident hall. A referral to the Office of Community Standards was issued to those involved.

On Oct. 28, at 2:40 a.m., A couple was involved in a violent dispute. Both students were issued a referral to the Office of Community Standards.
