Man on the Unispan -- December 13, 2016

What was your reaction to the recent hazing allegations? “It was pretty scary. There was a lot of things in that article that I wouldn’t have thought would happen at Hofstra. Because you read things about this happening at like, Penn State. I wouldn’t think it would happen at Hofstra. I mean I guess that’s probably what everyone thinks when it happens at their school. It was just scary.” - Max Mogel, junior

“Well first, I was really shocked. I didn’t know we did that. I was really shocked. Second, I owe my mom five bucks now, because she was right. I told her [my mom] that I wanted to join a fraternity. She told me not to because hazing happens. And she was right. I am now scared.” - Devin Williams-Agyeman, sophomore

“I am more or less disappointed that our school would participate in activities like that. I thought we were held to a higher standard. I’m glad that this whole thing was brought to light. Now there’s more awareness. And now they can crack down and make hazing less severe. So I think a good thing came out of a bad situation.” - Noah Graham, freshman
