The Hofstra Pride won its first nonconference game of the season by grinding out a 10-7 victory over the Great Danes of Albany.
The weather was cold, but the Hofstra Pride baseball team was heating up, winning two out of three games this past weekend against Colonial Athletic Association opponent Towson.

The Pride traveled to Tallahassee,FL last weekend to take on the no. 5 Florida State Seminoles. It was a repeat of last season's matchup though, as Hofstra suffered three straight losses to Florida State, getting outscored 37-6 in the process.
The Hofstra Pride baseball team headed south this past weekend for its 2011 season opener against Florida Atlantic University. The Pride finished last season 20-28-1 and looked to the series against the Owls as a chance to start its season on a strong note.
