Three Arrested in Attack in Nassau Hall

The Nassau County Police arrested three men, including two Hofstra students, in the Nov. 14 attack of a University resident student at his suite in Nassau Hall.

Three suspects were arrested in Uniondale on Friday, Nov. 17, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

Authorities say Daniel Tisone, 19 of Springfield, Va., allegedly borrowed a semi-automatic handgun from Andrew J. Parker, 19, of Uniondale, with the intent of robbing the victim's money and laptop. Tisone is a sophomore at the University.

Tisone's friend, Evan Steele, 20, of Belleair, Fla.,, offered to drive and wait for Tisone during the intended robbery, according to police. Steele is also a sophomore at the University.

According to detectives, Tisone struggled with the victim, causing the victim to sustain cuts to his forehead. The victim received eleven stitches at Nassau University Medical Center.

The defendants and the victim are acquaintances, according to detectives.

Tisone, Steele and Parker are charged with Robbery in the first and second degree, Assault in the second degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the third degree. Parker was also charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the fourth degree.

Correction: In the article University Student Attacked in Dorm, the victim's age was incorrectly given as 19. The victim's age is 20.

Daniel Tisone, a sophomore, was charged with robbery, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
