Public Safety Briefs 12-8-11

Two students reported that while standing in front of Estabrook Hall on Dec. 1, water was being poured and the empty bottles were thrown out the window. Public Safety responded to the room where the water and bottles were being thrown and issued an appearance summons to the residents of the room.

 

The PSO assigned to the main entrance of campus observed a vehicle drive onto campus through the exit lane on Dec. 2. The officer contacted more Public Safety officers who then stopped the vehicle; the driver was identified as a student and was given a summons for reckless driving and failure to comply.

 

On Dec. 3, the RA reported that on the 8th floor of Enterprise Hall, a drunk and disorderly male was banging on walls and doors and ripped down the eraser board and decorations off of a room. Public Safety, NCPD and an ambulance responded. The student was taken to NUMC, treated and released. The student was given a summons for his actions.

 

While doing rounds in Hempstead House, the RAs smelled marijuana coming from a room on Dec. 4. Public Safety responded and found the residents inside the room with a grinder and a small amount of marijuana residue. The items were confiscated and the residents were given a summons.

 

A student reported on Dec. 4, that sometime between Nov. 28 and Nov. 29 while his car was parked in the Nassau Hall parking lot, someone had written racial remarks and drawn swastikas on his car. An investigation is being conducted.

 

A note that said, "Don't mess with the devil," along with plastic devil horns were found in the drying machine in New York House being used by a female student on Dec. 6. Public safety was notified and an investigation is being conducted.
